One More time....Bill 2.....get ready to kiss your property goodbye!

Bill 2, the Responsible Energy Developement Act.

Please take the time to inform yourself about what this legislation means?

Now I've negotiated a few leases and right of ways in my life and the biggest hammer in the tool box was the suggestion you might object to a project! That would always get the landmans attention and make his pencil get a lot sharper!

Gone!....under Bill 2.....and that is only one part of many that will take away your ability to get a fair deal!

The actual regulations, the meat and potaoes of this bill, aren't even written! This will be an "evolving" act where the cabinet appointed regulator will write the rules....and if the cabinet minister doesn't like them he can change them on a whim!

Does that make you a wee bit uncomfortable?

The present cabinet minister is Energy Minister Ken Hughes. He has a very close relationship with industry. For example when groups all across Alberta were calling for a "review on pipeline safety" Minister Hughes said he would check with our "industry partners" over at CAPP! This is the minister that can change the rules and regulations, concerning oil and gas developement on your land?

Will his changes be for your benifit.....or his "industry partners"?

Just about every property rights lawyer in the province are sounding the alarm bells......this is going to be very bad for farmers and ranchers!

Take a minute or two to contact your MLA and share your concerns.
It might be the most valuable thing you have ever done.
