I am just wondering, who pays for the inspection services of CFIA on site at plants? Is it tax payers or do they charge the plant per inspection or per hour?

I know with grain inspection the CGC charges the user. If Cargil needs a certificate on a sale they charge Cargil which they would end up figuring it back into thier costs and down load to producers.

They charge the small plants for the service, I know
that. I heard the figure once and it wasn't as much as
I expected so I wonder if it might be subsidized to an
extent? I can't remember the figure now.

So how do they keep conflict of interest out.

They may overlook a few small things along the way. They wouldn't want to spoil thier bread and butter.

However that can only go on till it hits the fan. Like it did.

CFIA, CGC, Health insp. should all be paid out of fed reserves under the good of Canada.
