Sask Party hates farmers!! Raises land rents 45%

Dec 7, 2017 | 14:07 1 Provincial land rents according to the neighbor are going up an additional 45% on top of the already 30% that went up last year. This will mean land rents on crown land for farmers will be double the private land rent amount according to my neighbor???

Ask Alana what was her part in this since she was in the ag department.

Dec 7, 2017 | 14:16 3 Actually she hasn't been in Ag since May last year.

But why should it be any different than market rents on private land. Maybe they should put it up for tender every 5 years.

No more subsidization. Reply With Quote

This makes as much sense as anything else you say. Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 14:24 5 Current renters will also be have the chance to buy the land at a 10% discount.

Not sure what the 10% is exactly taken off, 3rd party valuation maybe?

10% off a reasonable price is actually a pretty decent deal and should make up for the last few years of rent increases. Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 14:32 6 There apparently was 30% rent increase last year and 15% a couple years prior.
Rents double the private rates????

She was there first turn around. As they all were. Don't bother to tell me that if the Ndp did this you wouldn't be singing your old Roy whine. They were idiots but never did this. Nor did they double insurance premiums for farmers and then take the money to make he budget look better and brag how smart they were. Total fricken losers.

Lep nice to see you took brads wang out of your hand long enough to post something. Better hurry library closes in a shortly hahaha Reply With Quote

Dec 7, 2017 | 14:51 8 Lands Branch renters pay way less than market rents. I am tired of hearing from whiners that they have it so bad renting at below market rents their entire life. Put it up for tenders and see where the price comes in at. I guess you haven't noticed what private rents have done.

Go ahead Big Wheel, explain to me why your rent should be lower than the rest of us.

Big wheel, go ahead and elect Meili as NDP leader and see if you get any bright ideas in AG. I doubt if he has even a remote idea what goes on in modern Ag. Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 14:59 9 You think I don't know what land rents for hahaha
You need to crawl out from working under the premiers desk more often. Lots of smoke going on there. They say mink oil is good for the palms. Hahahaha

I've seen the neighbors statement his rent will be double mine. Your not really a farmer are you? On the payroll hey.

For all of you out there whining about you can t make it with the corporate rents this just added fuel to the corporate rents. It's higher!!! Think about it for awhile I know with narrow minds and some on the payroll to print their garbage it's tough to swallow well in leps case he s a pro but for the rest of you. This will impact many of us. I already got a call from one of my landlords in a somewhat joking way but yet just letting me know. This will end up being corporate foreign land.
All part of the plan. I ain't paying these prices for land it doesn't work'!!! Reply With Quote

Dec 7, 2017 | 15:58 10 Big Wheel. Big talk, small mind.

Anyway, the latest land rented here for $140 a cultivated acre. I doubt he would be paying $280.

Just because you screw some unsuspecting widow at $35 doesn't mean $70 isn't market rent. Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 16:04 11 I pay 60 on that land comparable to what he has and 60 is too much. If you were a farmer you'd know you have to compare apples to apples.

140 land makes sense to you? And why is it that much?

Is it better to screw a widow or be screwed like you obviously are by a man. For 140. Must have seen you comin a mile away. Hahahaha Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 16:05 12 Did you do Billy's negotiating on the GTH with those numbers ? Hahahaha Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 16:19 13 Rent on high quality land has exactly quadrupled here in ten years -$30 to $120. Not saying it should be that high but it is.
No way crown land should be a deal. For what reason? Market rate either rent or selling price. Reply With Quote

Dec 7, 2017 | 16:21 14 So your saying he is being charged $120 an acre by the government? What is the assessment? Because I think your are slinging bullshit.

Anyway, hurl insults all you want. It doesn't bother me. But it definitely gives a pretty good impression of your intellect. Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 16:27 15 60 would be bargin basement rent here for decent land . Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 16:29 16 Hey Lep you opened your mouth with insults so expect to get it back. If you don't like it don't be an ass to start with.

All the rent in the local area here vary from some 50 to I think in that 65 range for a high. I pay 65 on some but it's better land. This land is Assessed lower than mine. So?????

On top of that it's highly improper to one day say gee I can't balance the books so I want to charge you 45% more land rent. But we'll see this will be going to court not a doubt.

These are farm families we re talking about.

Anyone look at the gov charts for profitable crops to grow?

Are they charging 90% more for royalties for oil? Since 3 or 4 years ago? Reply With Quote

Anyone I know that rents lands branch land has paid far below market rent forever. I think it is time they lose the subsidy. Reply With Quote

Dec 7, 2017 | 16:57 22 Reminds me of the time a guy had vt'd his land back to FCC and was renting it back. It had been a long drawn out process and as a carrot to settle FCC offered him a preferential rent. Most times they settled for $25 and acre and for him it was $15. So when it came time to renew they had increased everyone up to $30 and he received a notice that his was also going to $30. He cried all over town because theirs was going up 20% and his was doubling.

True story. Unlike the BS being slung on this post. Reply With Quote
SASKFARMER3's Avatar Dec 7, 2017 | 17:09 23 really some were paying piss all bragging about it and now pay what normal rents are. Still cheaper than the 80 a acre.

Some NDPs that had the original land bank land got spanked.

Finally. Reply With Quote
Dec 7, 2017 | 17:10 24 Obviously on the payroll aren't you?

When it goes to court if I know when and where I ll let you know you can go see for yourself.

It's my neighbors business but he s already contacted others in the same boat. We ll see how it plays out. Likely read about it.

Yes FCC did a lot of other things too like turned small farmers down for loans then gave the pike types loans then when shit hit the fan for paying the 140 rent type comparable loans of those days. They wrote it all off for pennies so the idiots that were fools were rewarded. Reply With Quote

I doubt this is going to happen before seeding, so your neighbor has a decision to make.

Yes it is your neighbors business, but if you aren't going to lay out the facts don't go online and whine about it.

If you were turned down for a loan in the last 10 years from FCC you really didn't have a chance to succeed. They have supported Ag like no other lender has.

I have been singing that song for many yrs now and there wasn't an NDer in the province, alta that is, here in Alta we rent out crown land for 3.5 mill and renters get use of said land plus close to 100 mill in resource revenue. Lets see you turn that into an ND problem, I understand they are increasing rent double not sure on cultivated land but that puts grazing fees up to $3.60/ month, how many of you get pasture for that kind of money.
Speaking of money why is all of you afraid to put dollar numbers on your posts, afraid of someone finding out you have a goldmine or what. Reply With Quote

Getting paid to graze sure helps making a profit in the cattle business. Know of a situation like that as well. Reply With Quote

Exactly, FCC will approve anyone with a chance....so if declined it's likely for the best.

FCC is offering a special program for crown land so you can phase in the principal over 5 years saving thousands for the purchaser.

Sounds like another Big Story from Big Wheel. Reply With Quote
