What Went Wrong?

Dec 4, 2017 | 08:47 1 JT visited China to discuss trade deal but got sent packing. He is wondering what happened. Seems China doesn't take too kindly to lectures in how to run their country. Trump has be tolerating Canada's yipping since he was elected. Trudeau how to govern lessons are just what the world leaders need, oh yeh! Reply With Quote

Dec 4, 2017 | 09:06 3 More than likely they want to see how Nafta negotiations go. If we do end up losing it will put in a tougher position economically. Means china has more leverage for negotiating a free trade agreement with us later on.

Likely didn't walk away with nothing, these agreements are usually a pretty long term project. But definitely less than what he wanted.

I'll give the guy credit for trying. Even though i still don't like him. Reply With Quote

Dec 4, 2017 | 09:27 6 What would be the purpose of a silly trade deal with China? China exports as much as possible to Canuckistan already. What more can we send there? China will not let go of their import duties like the one on canola since it needs the money to service internal debt. So really trying to bluff president Trump is not going to work. Nice try though Reply With Quote

Dec 4, 2017 | 09:31 7 Trudeau needs to go back the NAFTA table and offer the US more access to the Canadian dairy market. Trying to bluff with China will not put US negotiators off there game. Reply With Quote
Dec 4, 2017 | 10:04 8 Trudeau should be announcing tariffs on Indian imports enroute..... Reply With Quote
fjlip's Avatar Dec 4, 2017 | 10:40 9 Canada and China stopped short of launching free trade negotiations, agreeing instead to extend exploratory talks toward a deal. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Li Keqiang canceled a joint press conference Monday, with each leader making a brief statement instead in which they pledged cooperation on climate change and clean growth. The two countries had been expected to kick off formal talks toward a free trade agreement, though officials had said right up until the last minute no decision had been made. Trudeau said the country’s beef and pork producers will have greater access to the Chinese market, and that the two countries would continue to work together to on a canola dispute after an existing deal expires in 2020. Monday’s turn was reminiscent of last month’s scuttled Trans-Pacific Partnership talks in Vietnam, when Canada angered trading partners including Japan when it balked at finalizing a revamped deal. SASKFARMER3's Avatar Dec 4, 2017 | 12:03 12 I never pick on someone who has mental issues as this is Canada and we do have ways of dealing and helping them out.

But really I’m starting to wonder the same if he hasn’t inherited his mother’s problems. Reply With Quote

Dec 4, 2017 | 12:32 14 Justin Trudeau was out jogging when he tripped, fell over the bridge
railing and landed in the creek below. Before his body guards could get
to him, three kids pulled him out of the water. He was so grateful he
offered the kids whatever they wanted.

The first kid said, "I want to go to Disneyworld."

Trudeau said, "Not a problem, I'll take you there by helicopter, I'll
set it up.

The second kid said, "I want a new pair of Nike Air Jordan's."

"I'll get them for you and even have Michael Jordan sign them!"

The third kid, which happened to be a Newfoundlander, said, "I want a
motorized wheelchair with a built in TV and stereo headset!!"

Trudeau is a little perplexed by this and says, "But you don't look like
you are handicapped."

The kid says, "I will be after my dad finds out who I saved from
drowning!" Reply With Quote

To be clear, I was not picking on anyone with mental issues.

The point is that he was elected because of his last name and the country is seeing that P.E T. did not pass his intellectual genes along to Justin sock puppet boy. (There may be another reason for that...)

His mother was out there banging rock stars and doing other stupid stuff long before her mental health issues became public.

The country got the name they voted for but that's all.

Dec 4, 2017 | 13:23 17 The chance of China ever listening to our drama flunkie and his enviro/labor/aboriginal rights components of ‘progressive’ trade deals was zero. One would expect they would recognize that but maybe not..or it’s all a big show which is also possible
Was at a meeting with Champagne last week and he listed off the ‘Comprehensive and Progressive’ details they are adding to every trade deal like they are leading the world, and everyone is looking to Canada to lead. While listening, and he delivers the message with the enthusiasm of a good politician, I had to really wonder whether he even believed it himself.
On India, and the question was asked why not slap tariffs on stuff coming to Canada-we import about $4 bil of a few things from them, and that is less than 1% of their exports, so they would not notice if they didn’t export anything to us.

India is pissed that our Defense minister (ya the one that said he was in combat and well wasn’t) said something supportive of the Sikh community there - and the Hindu govt didn’t like that - serious deal there.

Sock boy is going to India in Feb. if it hasn’t rained much on the Rabi crop, the tariff will be off by then. Reply With Quote

Asking China to consider its gender treatment.
No one outside the West knows what the hell that is.
Sadly no one inside the West finds anything ridiculous in the situation.
Likely heavily edited inside China.
JT just selling more of himself to his voters. Thats all. Everyone knows it.
Good for a laugh I guess..... Reply With Quote

BP, sadly it's not really funny! Actually kinda "pathetic" would be a more accurate description.

Canada is in a "black-out", we are losing a period of time in our history with this government! Hopefully people do remember!!! Reply With Quote
SASKFARMER3's Avatar Dec 4, 2017 | 15:12 21 Burnt I was joking he definitely didn’t get anything from Pierre.

Sad 4 to 8 years for canada.

Love the reports all is fine but Canadian companies are thinking about moving south and shipping product north. Trumps a better bet than sock boy.

Dec 4, 2017 | 18:49 24 What an embarrassment. Trudeau with Climate Barbie on his left and the Seik combat pretender on his right preaching to the Chinese about climate change and gender equality. Wow. The Chinese even blocked photo ops. Then, he speaks to the Chinese Millennials about Canada, hoping they'll visit and soak in all his diversity fairy dust and return to China to change things for the "better". There's no doubt a labor camp in that future. Reply With Quote

Dec 4, 2017 | 19:06 27 Our child Prime Minister.

China has made it well known they are taking a different path and they arn't apologizing for it.

They have taken their GDP from less than $400 to +$8000 since the early 90's

I have to ask, what kind of moron should go there and ask they conform to his ‘Comprehensive and Progressive’ agenda.

This guy has mental issues. He thinks he can change the world.

Stop smoking that stuff before going to meet with the most important people in the world.

Read the economy part of this link to get an idea who thought he was going to give a lecture to;

Brain damaged liberals

'Canadian values' important in ties to China.

"You may remember there was some controversy in the early days of this government, when we said that when we conducted relationships with China or any other country there were really three elements to that," he said.

"There were not just economic interests, there were also fundamental human values, Canadian values and also our security interests .... We insist that all of those things be on the table in this and any other relationship."
