    Rail Issues

Sounds like CN is starting to fall behind more and more. Local elevator has had loaded cars sitting on there siding for 2 weeks. And are unsure of pick up date.

CN has cancelled the last 3 trains to a location we are contracted to. They tell us that this close to Christmas CN is now a write off.

Same as my local location. My local elevator is not booking until March/April now for new tonnes. Due to rail service. Could be a long winter for elevator guys. And farmers also.

CP has been ok in this area. Gradually pulling their pants up.

Generally do around Christmas though. Holidays seems to be the only time they’re willing to move lots of grain.

Is it t rail , or line company b/S ?
They all like to point fingers at rail , and yes they may be right , but sometimes their sales incompetence hinders rail as well .

There is a lot of ground to make up between the pit and landed grain in a far off country . As seen with peas , politics and foreign buyers can be more than detrimental to grain sales not working out.
It’s the shit that gets passed on that farmers must walk through at the end of the day.
Sucks but no one will support us at all, it’s finger pointing and the federal government ittoo busy crying over spilt milk ... literally 😭

CN mainline in west central sask. is really behind. Doesn't seem to matter which company you are delivering to, they are all falling further behind. Rosetown on a branch line is doing fine. Seeing more oil trains again tho not what they were 5 years ago.

Has it something to do with Protein and Grain Quality. If a area has lots of 11 then probably shitty service.

Pretty sure both CN and CP are behind the 8 ball right now.

December and January are pretty notorious for low shipping.

Sometimes its on the grain company, sometimes its on the railway, and sometimes its on the port.

Lots of moving pieces and opportunities for delays.

Will the railways get their fingers slapped with minimal fines due to a lack of performance?

Always lots of excuses but the weather has been nicer than average so that can't be a used for CN.
