Well another week and another week of not good news for producers of grain in Canada. It seems funny that the whole farming world is going completely nuts.

Yes most countries have increased production probably thanks to shit farmers in Canada started. Yes more are fertilizing and doing other things to improve production. But we also are seeing things that happened back in the 80s starting to show their ugly head. Countries playing games with trade. That my friends and enemies is the new problem. It started a few years ago with china playing games and screwing the markets for us but now you have on a daily basis Egypt and India and Italy and others playing games with Bullshit just to get cheaper product.

But we have farmers in Canada that believe like Trudeau that the Fairy princess will sprinkle fairy dust and all will be ok. Ha i say to many people suck the life out of us farmers each and every day. Just at the Agribition or Red Deer and every shit show product that only costs a few bushels is available to help you produce more. Most are snake oil products. Buy more equipment farm more to pay the price. Up up and away. Some are falling for this bullshit hook line and sinker others are starting to ask questions.

I believe its time for most of us to start waking up and ask questions.

Some cry that its the way it is big supply and big issues and us good boy scouts farmers in canada should shut up sit tight and struggle on.

These are the same ones who probably sit on boards and have that do nothing attitude. Maybe we should quit letting morons run for boards and get real smart farmers on these. I don't know i am getting to old but we will loose another generation with the same brain dead attitude that all is good all is great were Canada and were special now struggle on.

Some say their is nothing Canada can do. HA i say look at South America or Russia and see who will serve us stupid Canadian farmers our lunch. China will build in some of these places roads railways etc to get product for the favour or cheaper grown food. We pay royalties and sing songs and pay pay pay to every single person in the chain yet the pennies are left for us. But we let it happen to us with the stupid attitude that all is great in Farming in Canada.

Again if your pulling the plug this winter is probably the time to do it.

If things don't change farming will go the way of the Dino and the natives will get back their grass land again. USA looks after their own and stands up for them. Russia stands up for theirs. China has so many poor they just have to keep them alive. India has poor and others but its a struggle and here well be next.

Producer groups that you cant even get your money back from any more are a problem. That tells me they don't care what farmers think because if some of us are pissed we vote with our wallet. Thats gone. So then you have these same people study the effects of the dodo bird on seed production probably. Meetings and meetings and discuss bullshit that does nothing.

So yea i wish one week i could write something that excites people with ag but its that time to load up on Chem Fert and Seed for 2018 are we happy yet.

Then you have a useless Carbon tax and Tax Changes that will effect all of us. Don't rose coat the facts it will increase your costs as a producer with no one to offset it with. Guess what your going to make way less in 2018. Yea were such great place to farm.

Have a safe week lets think long and hard and maybe do some traveling to see how other areas of the world work. Yea were starting to loose out to places that our grandfathers left for a better life.

Thousands of farmers protested in India’s capital, demanding better prices for their crops and relief from high debts, underscoring the challenges Prime Minister Narendra Modi faces before elections in his home turf Gujarat next month and nationally in 2019.

Yep it wasn't put in place to hurt them but to help them. Nothing to see here.

After a bit more thinking the entire thing comes down to this. Farmers in Canada drove red lentils to 60 cents in 2015/16 and peas to $14. Growers wouldn't sign unless then seen 40 cent new crop reds in Dec 15/Mar 16. Food prices in India when thru the roof and countries all over the world decided they wanted a piece of the action.

We loved the free market ride to 60 cents on reds. Now the painfull part. When you stand back and look at how we tried to get every cent out of them you recognize why they are doing this. And why do we think anyone will be able to stop them? Just lock the bins until 60 and $14 comes around again.

Sort of like oil, eh Dave? Can't really blame India for becoming self-sufficient, but they do seem to suffer a lot of droughts so we'll probably have a chance to open our bin doors again. Lentil acres have become quite elastic around here with land rolling and desiccation/straight cutting and lentil growing area has expanded exponentially in Sask. We strive to to oversupply and think that prices will stay up, past cycles are repeating over and over - high prices lead to high acres - leads to low prices .

Locking the bin doors is fine until you need move the product because of one reason or another and it's now 50% less from where you locked the doors at. You can be rewarded nicely for it but you must fully understand the risk.

The noon ag broadcast Had a hrs expert and the protein problem. Can’t figure it ouT but he is sure of one thing it won’t get sorted out till Christmas next year so keeping grain you won’t be able to mix it off and Jan 2019 is a long time to wait to sell. Yea just great

Doing anything but locking the doors on #1 HRS with sub 13 protein would currently be foolish.
If it wasn't contracted in summer at a higher price it's best to keep it especially with the protein spreads as wide as they are.

In demand high protein could be another story?

Why is the protein premium and discount schedule inverted.

Last year we were almost told to hold off on delivery of 16 protein wheat and higher.

This year they look at you and say the machine doesn't lie Boom $1.00 off or better try harder next year.

ITs a game and one i am getting real sick of but what do i grow to replace wheat.

4000 plus acres of oats just make one big pile or 10 big shinny new bins full to the brim.

Impressive to look at but still a lot less stress.

Wheat they will kill like malt barley.

Its happening slowly and will continue.

Only a few more sleeps til Jan 1/2018....and the official kickoff to a new and improved direction for Canada and the world.
We'll be reminded by way of additional carbon and other taxes and price increases what would be appropriate ( but maybe not currently possible without serious hardship); the US leadership will lead by examples of lies, deceit and looking after the most wealthy and somehow the next Dark Ages might literally be slightly approaching more closely

The USA won't fail just yet. The liberals are the only ones really crying in the USA. Travel around and you will see one group who lost are really sad the rest of the population are just doing great.

Now the Carbon tax that our idiot and his band of Merry Men Sorry gender neutral is appropriate now Merry its will bring in a tax thats just a tax and actually will do nothing to help this country it will actually put us behind.

Companies are already planning plants in USA because of whats going on here and their.
Hm Manufacturing that was done in Canada will now be done in the USA and shipped back to canada.

AH got a love trump he is so far ahead of boy blunder its not even funny.

IMO it is because they have farmers willing to sell currently. If everyone had a padlock on the bins it would be a different story.

I'm thinking there will be improvements for prices from April to July similar to the last two years.....

We all have to sell something sooner or later they know that.

End of year purchases etc. They can wait longer
