    Delivering Barley against the Futures

Charlie is the new western barley contract better for producers as far as delivering against the barley futures

I will post the sight for WCE delivery documentation and leave for discussion.

My comment would be delvery still is a difficult process and will prevent most from trying it. There are also performance bonds that need to be posted which stops some. Finally, the transportation grid (at least to date) is wider than actual transportation costs under the new contract. A change to date this year has been a return to a north transportation grid versus one that has been almost strictly east west. Last year at this time, feed barley prices would pretty much flat ($4 ish/bu at least in the fall) up and down highway 2 from Lethbridge to Edmonton. This year, we are back to Lethbridge minus freight.

Has anyone tried delivering against futures.
