    Rain the last 24 hours May 10

    We have had 1/2-3/4 of an inch of rain Strathmore region.

    how much did you guys get and where abouts are you?

    Fort Saskatchewan got enough rain to keep the dust down for an hour. Maybe we'll get some on the next system. Currently we are in decent shape, good top moisture with even germination.

      I'm in Brooks where it has been raining on and off for over a week. The dryland producers here are loving it but many of the guys with "electric rain" are having a really tough time getting seeding done!

      At the farm at Cereal we had over 2 inches the weekend of June 7. Now the grasshoppers are raising h__l with the crop anywhere it borders on grass land. Lots of guys have leased or bought bran blowers to put out insecticide-laced bran.

        Here at La Crete we just got our first rain of the year a 1/2 inch. I wonder if it came to late as canola planted 3 weeks ago had not germinated?

          Allfarmer;

          If rain were to become plentyful, with average heat, and no August frost, you could still get a crop.

          I believe June 22nd is the date Crop Insurance will start writing off Canola... if that is an option you need to look at..., give them a call if you have this option...

            Different area, but here in East-Central Ontario, we have lots of unplanted crops. Have some neighbours who haven't planted a seed of anything yet this spring because of wet ground, for ourselves, we got everything in but for the last 2 weeks we've had at least a third of an inch every other day while we've been trying to get haylage in, and over 2 inches so far today with water laying everywhere in the fields, and haven't been able to get the sprayer anywhere near the fields
            Wish we could split the difference
