Hurricane and Fire season just about done. Local plant was making OSB siding to value add but are now switching back to just straight OSB as demand is high and price is good

It's been this way since 100 oil. Nothing has gone down. And it won't.

Cousin owns a good sized mill and the wholesale price went up a $100/ 1000 board feet because the BC mills couldn't get logs with all the fires. He was happy😉

8”x8”x24’ PT went from $235 this time last year to $600 here now. Something about not being able to get big spruce anymore and having to switch to fir

Those would be some heavy posts! We used to build lots of pole sheds with big posts. Pretty tough to get anything straight or dry that long anymore. Most have gone to laminated posts.

Did they still treat the fir poles? They should last forever

They treat the fir but not for as long as the spruce. I was planning a hay barn this fall, going to wait for next year and square up some white ash for posts this winter instead

Are the white ash dying up your way too? Will you be treating them, at least at the ground level?

Some are dying but it’s still pretty hit and miss. I’ll have to treat the bottoms with something
