    9 Billion USD

    For irrigation, drainage

    Canals
    Aquaducts
    Storage lagoons

    In Argentina.

It's the government response to the "drought"...

Keep in mind this is in a country where average rainfall is 39" a year. They are at 12" in the bean cycle so far as opposed to 18".

Yep only in canada do we crush start ups crush wealth generation from oil coal and gas and mining and forest and farming but want every social program that a mind can dream up and use roads canals and rail for 1800s with no major up dates.
We should have 20 dams on the Saskatchewan river systems for irrigation districts instead of fields with wind mills and ugly black south facing solar panels.

But the world is changing where once prosperous counties want socialiszm and dictator counties want freedom and growth.

We’re Rome fiddling as we slowly die.

Sad but if I was way younger I would leave and start again in South America.

        Canada is done

Yea we can do things different etc but wealth generation is needed to pay for all the dreams people need to work to be happy not get a check every month till they die.

It’s sad but I think every day about selling and moving away.

We need grass and chuck to explain how the current PM has a vision. I really think he’s down a dark brown hole.

CN rail has invested 20 Billion on capital projects in the last 10 years. They have announced they will spend 3.2 billion in 2018. That's just CN. Not all doom and gloom

What is land worth in Argentina?
What area of Argentina would be the most ideal?
How easy would it be to set up down there?
Sounds like it is a very exciting place to be invloved in agriculture right now.

Farming your comments on railways spending billions on their just repairing the worn out shit. We are losing out as a country and sad part lots like you believe we’re still number one when actually we’re getting close to dead last. We are becoming a area like Russia or Ukraine 50 to 60 years ago where no one wants to work and the few that do soon realize it’s all for nothing and quit and drink vodka.
They woke up we are becoming them.
                        Sad really

The rail infrastructure was buying other rail companies, USA side.

Imagine the cost and uproar if they had to buy right of way to build new rail lines, much more resistance to be encountered than pipelines.

I realize there is lots of waste and missed opportunities because companies coddle to shareholders.
And management is overpaid and lacks vision

Likely Argentina is the new frontier. But a little research seems to indicate they are way behind after decades of neglect. I could be wrong

To keep thing in perspective, it is unlikely Argentina has $9B US to spare, and it will not be able to borrow that additional amount either with US rates rising so progress here will be slow. Even still they are trying to move forward as compared to Canuckistan which seems to like reverse gear.
