Help for the Interactive Tools

How do I turn on Javascript, and why do I need to?

You can test to see if your Javascript is turned on by clicking here.
If you don't see a dialog box pop up, then you need to turn on Javascript by following the procedures outlined below.

Javascript is used by many web sites, including Agri-ville.com, to provide visitors with a more interactive experience. An example of Javascript use on this site is the "What's New" box that pops up on the home page. In most browsers, Javascript is turned on by default, but if for some reason it is turned off in your browser, then you can use the procedures below to turn it on.

In Internet Explorer:

1. Go to the toolbar "Tools", and click on "Internet Options".

2. Click on the tab labelled "Security".

3. Click on the icon labelled "Internet".

4. Click on the button labelled "Custom Level".

5. Drag the window that opens down close to the bottom, and there should be the words "Active Scripting". Make sure the circle beside the "Enable" field is checked.

In Netscape:

1. Go to the toolbar "Edit", and click on "Preferences".

2. Click on the "Advanced" field.

3. Make sure the "Enable Javascript" box is checked.

What are cookies, and how do I enable them?

They allow the web site to keep track of who you are as you navigate through the site, and can store customized settings. (i.e. local weather). Cookies cannot contain viruses, and are safe to have on your computer. This site uses cookies to keep track of your login information, as well as customized settings on the homepage, such as weather, stock quotes, etc. To enable cookies, follow the instructions below.

In Internet Explorer:

1. Go to the toolbar "Tools", and click on "Internet Options".

2. Click on the tab labelled "Security".

3. Click on the icon labelled "Internet".

4. Click on the button labelled "Custom Level".

5. Drag the window that opens down close to the bottom, and there should be the words "Cookies". Make sure that both items are enabled.

In Netscape:

1. Go to the toolbar "Edit", and click on "Preferences".

2. Click on the "Advanced" field.

3. Make sure the "Accept All Cookies" box is checked.

How do I view the What's New Page Correctly?

The What's New page is supposed to pop up whenever a user visits the homepage, and there is new content to view. If the What's New page does NOT automatically pop up, then that means that you probably do not have Javascript enabled. To enable it, click here.
