Previous to joining Alberta Agriculture in 1993 as a Regional Crop Specialist, I worked for 5 years as the Research Coordinator for the North Peace Applied Research Association. I completed a M. Sc. in soil fertility in 1987; my thesis topic was deep banding of fertilizer nitrogen versus broadcast-incorporation. I worked for UGG in Saskatchewan for 2 years between my B. Sc. and M. Sc.

The topics which occupy most of my time include cereal and oilseed varieties; weeds, diseases and insects; herbicides; fertilizers and soil fertility; direct seeding; Internet; field troubleshooting.
